A Christmas Wonderland at Eavesdrop Brewery

A Christmas Wonderland at Eavesdrop Brewery

Ever wondered what it takes to bring Christmas magic to an entire brewery?

Spruce Decor + Style (Spruce) partnered with Eavesdrop Brewery (Eavesdrop) in Manassas, Virginia to transform their taproom, tent, and event space into three distinct Christmas environments designed to delight guests and create a memorable seasonal experience across the entire property.

While the spaces transformed, Eavesdrop’s team never had to step away from running the brewery.

The Challenge

During the busiest season of the year, most hospitality teams face a tradeoff: create a festive atmosphere or stay focused on running the business.

In 2025, Eavesdrop refused to choose.

In years past, decorating meant digging through storage, climbing ladders, and carving out hours their team didn’t have. Time that should have gone toward serving guests was spent installing garlands and untangling lights, only to repeat the process weeks later to take everything down.

“The hardest part about decorating was finding the time to do it while running the business—especially during the holidays. It’s already one of our busiest seasons, so adding decorating on top of everything else can be a lot.” — Sam, General Manager

For a team built to pour beer and host community, not manage seasonal logistics, decorating became a recurring operational burden.

The Spruce Approach

When Eavesdrop partnered with Spruce, the goal wasn’t just to “add Christmas decor”, it was to create an intentionally custom environment without adding more work to their team’s plate.

After a walkthrough of the property and conversations about guest flow and space use, Spruce designed three distinct concepts so that each space told its own holiday story. Along the way, Spruce incorporated some of Eavesdrop’s favorite existing decor pieces while sourcing additional elements to bring each theme to life.

From concept to install to post-season takedown, Spruce handled it all so Eavesdrop’s team didn’t have to source, style, install, or store a single additional piece.

“I’d handled decorating myself every year, so trusting someone else with it was a shift. But the Spruce team made the whole process easy and worked within our budget, which I really appreciated.”

The Taproom: Christmas Classics

The barn-style taproom became the emotional anchor of the season.

Traditional garlands framed the beams overhead while layered wreaths and warm red-and-gold accents softened the industrial architecture. Sleigh details, winter greenery, and subtle snow-touched textures added nostalgia without overwhelming the space.

It felt familiar. The kind of Christmas style guests instantly recognize.

The Event Space: Berries and Bling

In contrast, the private event room leaned into celebration.

Rich berry tones replaced traditional reds, paired with shimmering metallic accents that caught the light during evening gatherings. Tinsel-wrapped artwork, suspended ornaments, and a fully dressed statement tree turned the room into an elevated holiday backdrop.

Designed for parties, photos, and milestone moments.

The Tent: Gingerbread House

The outdoor tent became playful and immersive.

Candy-inspired garlands and gingerbread motifs brought warmth to the winter air, transforming a functional extension of the brewery into a cozy seasonal retreat.

It invited guests to stay a little longer and created a memorable contrast to the other spaces.

The Impact

In today’s experience-driven hospitality landscape, the environment matters as much as the offering.

Spruce ensured Eavesdrop’s space reflected the same care and creativity as what’s poured behind the bar without pulling their team away from service.

Guests moved through three distinct holiday environments, from nostalgic to glamorous to whimsical, discovering something new in every corner.

“We saw phones go up the second people walked in. They took photos, videos, the whole thing. It genuinely felt like a Christmas wonderland and people stayed longer because of it.”

And when the season ended, the decor disappeared just as seamlessly as it arrived.

“Hiring Spruce to decorate for us took a huge weight off the business and me as an owner. Plus, it makes a real impact on the space. If you’re on the fence, I’d say pull the trigger. We're so excited to keep working together!”
